English for teenagers

Our courses for teenagers (13-16 years old) improves on existing knowledge of the language and further enhances all four skills. We follow the Cambridge curriculum, and in addition to teaching your teenage child English they can use in everyday situations, we also prepare them for Cambridge examinations: A2 Key for Schools, B1 Preliminary for Schools and B2 First for Schools. These courses also prepare your teenage child for transition to university. 

Students are able to sit the official Cambridge examinations after either 6 or 12 months and receive a globally accepted certificate from Cambridge English – a department of the renowned Cambridge University.

WHAT CAN THE STUDENTS DO AFTER EACH COURSE?

A2 Key for Schools

After completing this level, students can:

  • understand and use basic phrases and expressions
  • understand simple written English
  • introduce themselves and answer basic questions about themselves
  • interact with English speakers at a basic level.

B1 Preliminary for Schools

After completing this level, students can:

  • read simple textbooks and articles in English
  • write letters and emails on everyday subjects
  • understand factual information
  • show awareness of opinions and mood in spoken and written English.

B2 First for Schools 

After completing this level, students can:

  • communicate effectively face to face, expressing opinions and presenting arguments
  • write clear, detailed English, expressing opinions and explaining the advantages and disadvantages of different points of view
  • follow the news
  • write letters, reports, stories and lots of other types of text.
